Emily's Trick or Treat to Cure Crohn's & Colitis

On March 23, 2017, at just 35 years old, my former camper and dear friend Emily Moore passed away following a courageous battle with appendiceal cancer.

That same year, Emily’s friends and family created Emily’s Trick or Treat to Cure Crohn’s & Colitis to honor Emily’s memory, celebrate Halloween, and raise money for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.

From 2019 through 2022 I led the communication and marketing efforts to develop a brand identity and collateral materials, sell tickets, structure and procure sponsorships, communicate event details via email and social media, and streamline operational processes.

Since its first year, the event has brought together thousands of Atlanta families and local businesses for a fun-filled fall afternoon and raised more than $500,000 for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. In 2022 alone, we raised $130,000 and celebrated Emily with 1000 event attendees.
